@disolitude
lol? Your joking?
I had to reread that.
By the by, I'm figuring 2010 Nintendo will have the most of these so called 'hardcore' titles on their system which proves your point, the self proclaimed journalists are claiming casuals are whats holding up the 'core' from getting Wii's. Of course I don't think that guy had any way to back that statement up and it was just another blurp of anti-wii feelings.
The transition however is what were talking about, and I rational it to be 'core' gamers know what they want and refuse most anything else short of being hyped, it's easy to hype something to create an instant buzz, if you don' t believe me, then ask why madden constantly sells that it took people 8 years to realize their playing an upgraded game. XD
"Look what the little man is doing, and do the exact opposite."
The guys on the shockwave of that trend will ride the wave all the way out before they catch the next big wave, so they'll keep on buying madden for a while but even they too will pan off. (Here's hoping 2009 is something special)
But that's all tangent - my point is I'm hoping it goes both ways, last thing I want in another 12 years is a shooter craze or whatever other genre becomes super mainstream.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
