Welcome to the Official Metroid Thread!

What's next for Metroid:

The 4th entry in the famed Metroid Prime series, following Metroid Prime 3's 2007 release.

It was first announced in Nintendo's E3 2017. Most of us thought the game would be in our hands by now, but unfortunately the original prototype wasn't meeting Nintendo's standards, so development was restarted in January 2019, this time by Retro Studios - the series' original developers.

As of now, we haven't heard many updates, let alone gameplay, which is agonizing for a franchise that barely gets any games as is.

Metroid  is a series of science-fiction action-adventure video games by Nintendo. It chronicles the missions of space-faring bounty hunter Samus Aran, who protects the galaxy from the depredations of the Space Pirates and their attempts to harness the power of the eponymous Metroids. Metroid combines the platforming of Super Mario Bros. and the exploration aspect of The Legend of Zelda with a decidedly darker atmosphere and a greater emphasis on nonlinear gameplay.

The latest we've heard of Metroid Prime 4 is during Kensuke Tanabe's Paper Mario interview. In it, he mentioned that Nintendo's design philosophy has casual players in mind. He gave the example of the Metroid Prime series as something that looks like it's only for core gamers at a glance, but has beginner friendly elements.

Do you agree? Do you think Metroid Prime 4 should be more casual friendly? How so? Discuss.
