The only problem with this theory is that they can't wait that long. There is no way to extend the life of the Wii U beyond 2016. Nintendo hasn't even hinted at any more major Wii U projects being in the works past Zelda U, and otherwise Wii U sales are not going to magically become passable for Nintendo. They need to leave the Wii U and everything "Wii" behind them, and unfortunately that's probably going to mean launching in the middle of the current generation. Nintendo has set themselves offbeat here, and I don't quite know how they're going to make things work when the rest of the game industry is operating on a different schedule than them. They can't really divorce themselves any further from the rest of the industry if they want to remain successful, but it seems impossible to postpone releasing new hardware until an opportune time unless they enjoy losing customers by letting the Wii U be dead with no word of any successor for potentially years. |
Yeah i agree with how Nintendo should leave the Wii brand, but its the matter of when. Releasing early in the generation might not increase much sales, like how PS4 and XONE owners might not be ready to buy another console, since their console is still new, and getting the latest games. Nintendo is in a very tough position right now to CONVINCE both gamers and developers why they should buy and make games for this NX.
Pocky Lover Boy!

i think i will soon make a thread about it..
