I don't think Sony is going to announce the price cut at any major event -- if they do, they are going to make it effective within a week of announcement. The problem is, if they announce a price drop too far out -- sales will plummet off a cliff (look at XB1 Kinectless sku).
I guess at least they could announce the same BS PR Microsoft did and say their sales tripled
