To be fair, IGN sort of pushed Reggie on this point. The actual quote was something like "I don't think when you showed Zelda last year that anyone thought it was going to be a Q1 or Q2 2015 game, so why did you show it?" Reggie's response was just like "When we showed it last year it was thought to be a 2015 game." At that point there's not much more to be said.
Edit: Here's the quote:
IGN: I understand that guideline and why you choose to observe that, but that must be taken on a case-by-case basis. When you guys showed Zelda last year, I would’t have believed that game was supposed to come out in Q1 or Q2. I would have thought that was a Q3 game.
Fils-Aime: “No, but when we showed it last year, we believed it was a 2015 game."
