Of course they are worse. But they are the same on the console which enables bc, sometimes even better than they were. PSNow makes the game worse than it once was, due to input delay and compression. Of course remasters look better than before, that's why you pay twice. For bc you don't pay twice.

Nobody "pays twice" necessarily.. If someone buys a remaster or plays a game on PSNow they might have never paid for it before. The only reason I want PSNow to come to europe is because I'd like to play some PS3 games I missed. And there are advantages; no downloading (so no HDD space taken either), no need for a PS4 (I can play on the go with my Vita) and I can finish plenty of games within a single subscription, making it cheaper than actually going out and buying those games for PS3 (or for PS4 if it had BC enabled). Even then it's just something I'll "just do" and then move on. Main game time is for new games.

If PS4 enabled PS3 BC right now... I'd play nothing on it. I have 0 reasons to pick up one of my PS3 games and put it on my PS4. They're still too fresh while getting no tech improvements at all.

So opinions differ. With a Vita on the go you have even worse internet access and you play on a smaller screen. Not to mention there are genres where streaming is just no option because of the delay. It also requires you to have constantly internet access, with bc you only need it to download the game which doesn't prevent you playing old games while your internet is off.

Either way, you prefer the Sony way, I prefer the MS way and that's it. We can exchange arguments back and forth but I don't think it'll add anything new to the discussion. For example what is cheaper is not objective but depends on how fast and often and intensively one plays which makes it tough to decide objectively which solution is better so in the end it is just personal preference like this conversation shows.
