Very early stages of the current generation? Maybe if you aren't Nintendo. Strength in Japan? If you count a 50% console success rate as strength, then yeah, they're doing great in Japan.

This also doesn't confirm anything about the NX. We still don't know exactly what the NX is even intended to be, and the big three are constantly working on the next iteration of their home consoles in some capacity. It's not like a year before the Wii was offed Nintendo suddenly started R&D for what would become the Wii U.
