I take it then that you haven't played a shooter with the Wiimote yet, or even Splatoon. Both are far superior to dual analogue, even if the keyboard and mouse remains supreme. Dual analogues were created as an unhappy medium, and I'm pleased to say we no longer need them. Now I just wait for The Industry to realize that.

I've done both. Splatoons gyro controls are bad, and Wiimotes are, not only worse, but, not universal or urganomic. Mouse and keyboard aren't universal, either. The industry hasn't realized that because it isn't true. Dual analog works because it's the best current way to play shooters on a controller that can play almost every other genre in the best current way in the most comfortable and convenient way. Neither the Wiimote nor mouse and keyboard do that, and gyro aiming is just plain bad.

Suffice it to say we have radically different opinions on this then. Guess time will tell which of our preferences takes over.

I'm with you guys on this. Playing games like unreal tournament and quake on PC with a mouse + keyboard has spoiled me with its accuracy. The stylus controls on the DS were the best after that, and the Wiimote is the next best thing after both of those, and dual-analog never synced with me. Even slower paced shooters like Half-Life 2 didn't feel that good with dual-analogue.
