This is an in universe spin off. It. Is. A. Spin. Off. The world isn't interconnected because the GF aren't explorers, they're soldiers. Exploration isn't their job, it's Samus'. Samus isn't the lead role because Samus isn't the only entity important to the Metroid universe. That's a juvenille non-point not worth acknowledging any further. This game does have strafing. Now you're just making shit up. You either haven't watched the gameplay at all, or never played a Prime game and don't know what the strafing actually looked like. Again, the game looks like shit. We all know that. That doesn't stop it from being a Metroid Prime game. That just makes it an ugly Metroid Prime game. I guess Star Fox: Zero isn't really Star Fox either, because it doesn't look good too. No it won't. It has the Prime control scheme, which means you both don't know how a "generic shooter" plays, and you think the Prime games have an "awkward control scheme." In fact, it actually has a better control scheme than the Prime games, because it actually uses the right analog stick for camera control instead of the terrible way the GCN prime games did it. No one will crucify you for ignoring a spin off game of a spin off trilogy. |
It has Prime in its name, so it's part of the Prime series. Yet it has nothing in common with it. So where is Metroid Prime, Dark Samus or phazon in this game? How else can it be called Metroid Prime? Are there even metroids in this game?
I have watched the gameplay where they trapped those ice creatures, it was cringeworthy. No strafing to be found. 3DS doesn't have dual analogue sticks, GC has, and yes I used them to look around.
