It would have been a good idea if it was a new IP, or implemented as a 'Nintendo Land 2/World', not as a mismatched spin-off of one of your most significant franchises when there isn't even a core entry yet, which is now also unlikely to happen in the first place. This seems to be the trend in the 8th gen anyway for Nintendo; skip core entries in your series and just release spin-offs instead.
