I think DS is slowly reaching saturation of people who are interested in gaming in Japan.

Of course it's reaching saturation. That's 23 million DS's in a country whose population is 127 million.

Aus has a population of around 20.5 million yet maybe about 2.5 million owned consoles all up. so around 10%. You are fooling yourself if you think ALL of Japan's population is a gaming market.
