Actually this breaths new life into the 360 library. It's a good way for publishers to make a few extra bucks from their already made software or make it more enticing for selling their newer games. Some companies are already using it to sell their future games by offering their older games for free. So, this announcement is a big deal. It's consumer friendly and devs can gain from it too. It's not the concept of BC that is being questioned here, it is the way that it is being used.

PS3 with BC didn't sell because the console cost way too freaking much. The day that they announced they were removing BC, I ran out to buy one before I couldn't get one anymore. Believe me, everyone would have loved for BC to remain.

People just end up accepting what their Gods do, even if it's not exactly what they want, in the end. Why, because of loyalty. Some Gods take away and it's ok to their people. Some Gods give and it's loved by their followers, but talked bad about by their rivals to make it look like not such a good thing. Who loses? The ones that fill their hearts with envy and hate, when someone else gains something good.

Bold #1 - Companies have already been doing this.  Only they are giving away actual remasters for cheap or free.  Or they are games from the same franchise from earlier in the same gen.

Bold #2 - And the Wii U, which had B/C with last gen's winner, and wasn't incredbly expensive?  In either example, it doesn't matter.  Nice feature, but nowhere near the main selling point.  And those were almost full B/C, not the limited kind MS is doing.

And you shouldn't really worship your console like that.

Companies doing remakes need to spend much more money to do that. This is the start of a new gen, so obviously there are not that many games to give away for free on the Bone or PS4. Devs benefit in this situation.

There are more benefits to having BC for 360 games than Nintendo or pre-after Achievements got successful PlayStation games. That main benefit is Achievements. People still have a lot to gain replay wise and Achievement wise from them. Giving people a way to access those libraries and also allowing Xbone features, like snapping, blah blah to work while playing them. Blah  Blah blah blah blah..

You are right, my undying love for Sony is just too overwhelming sometimes.
