I still have a lot of questions. The kickstarter was just to gauge interest? And they made a deal to help out AFTER the goal was reached?

Basically, sony is partnering with 'em to make the game after the kickstarter goal was reached. So yes.

But it seems so strange to have a deal based upon a variable like that. They could have funded it without asking for 2 million in Kickstarter first. I wonder how many people will be cancelling their donation now that it is exclusive (assummption)?

It was pretty clear that since sony announced it that they're partners somehow in it.
