I Honestly Thought Microsoft Had This In The Bag

Backwards compatibility. The kind that trumps Sony's current plan. 

 

Early Access with Elites Dangerous and Day Z.

 

Ashen and all the other wonderful games. 

 

It seemed like it was over. As a Sony diehard, I had relented to my preferred camp not taking home the E3 trophy this year. I mean, they would have to show Last Guardian, a FFVII remake, and a new Shenmue to ove-

 

Oh snap. 

 

Oh.

 

I'm less interested in the obvious victory now and more interested in what just happened. Microsoft brought their A-game. They came in guns blazing, taking pot shots like they already won. And if this was any other E3, they would have won. This was Microsoft's best year ever. Unfortunately, Sony had its best year ever, too. And their best year included three of the most requested games of our age. 

 

Wonderful conference from Microsoft. Even more amazing from Sony.
