Do both; a $250 Wii U with an NES paint job and Mario Maker.

Add a Splatoon level of marketing, and make sure the standalone release is not full price, and you have dynamite.

It needs more than Splatoon's marketing.  Especially - ESPECIALLY - in the states.  Better quality commercials.  And then for the love of all that's decent have the commercials on channels other than kids networks.  Older gamers would be interested in this for sure.  I mean, the nostalgia alone would bring hype. 

I guess I'm still a little giddy from seeing a Splatoon commercial before Jurassic World, something I never expected from modern Nintendo. I expected their marketing to be nonexistent for it, so just seeing an actual effort being made impressed me more than it probably should have.
