Don't stick your head in the sand, lol... Everyone outside of gaming classifies you as a "gamer" no matter what you try to call yourself within gaming 
It's like a racecar driver. Whether it's F1, stock, rally, anyone outside the know of racing is going to simply refer to that racecar driver as a "racecar driver". Of course, everyone sees racecar drivers as cool, hahaha
