Ya if sales are down that low than something is really needed to boost sales in the summer, perhaps releasing the smaller "New" model could give a decent 1-2 boost but that's not really a long term solution.

Well game wise they've pretty much exhausted all their IP on the 3DS, not sure what they could release now that would boost sales in that sense. Metroid is the only main Nintendo IP not really accounted for on the 3DS and that's always been a franchise more on the niche side.
