so you have person who is weak and near death and very easy to manipulate, who thinks that he just missed the great opporunity to die in glory 3 times in a row, and this person meets one of the best looking and kind woman he could ever imagine , almost angle like to a dying man, who tells him that maybe it isn't is destiny to die while killing other people and saying that max cared about them is a bit streched I would say, in the first part he had no choice , he had to trust them and in the end he had nothing left to lose as btw in mad max 2. I remember max helping those people because his car was wrecked and he had nothing to lose. also mels leathel weapon madness is a lot different to the one max should portray. max is an lonely man in the wilderness an animal , feral like , that's why he doesn't speak and only grunts |
Ok, seeing a beautiful woman erases years of brainwashing. He could have killed Furiosa and Max when they didn't know that he was in the rig but ok.
Max did care which is why he went out of his way to tell them his plan and then going back with them. Max in MM2 didn't help anyone without a benefit to himself - for his car and then gasoline, not because he had nothing to lose. In this one, what's his motivation? A ghost told him to help them.
And maybe Max in this movie isn't Max, it's the Feral kid who grew up to become like Max. That would explain why the grunting and why he cannot form a full sentence and why he now has a daughter instead of a son.
