I can understand them delaying a game so they can release it at christmas. I cannot understand them delaying a game that they've already announced for 2015 to coincide with the anniversary. That's not some unforseen circumstance it's a predetermined event. They don't suddenly get to march 2015 and then realize "Oh wow apparently it's our 30th anniversary next year... we DIDN'T KNOW!" If they wanted the game to be released on the 30th anniversary it would never have been announced for a 2015 release. The game was delayed because it needed more development time, I'm 100% sure of this. |
Wrong. Fisrtly, if they needed more time is because Zelda team waste a lot of time on other things. Secondly, they need money. They are going to make the 30th anniversary a great celebration just like the 25th with Skyward Sword and the symphony of the goddesses.
They are not going to go in 2016 without a Zelda game to celebrate. Unfortunately, this does not bode well as the next big Zelda could take another 5 years to be developed.

That... doesn't make any sense. It was the 25th anniversary the whole year. They delayed the game because it wasn't finished by the end of 2010. Then, yes, they deliberately pushed it back to be a Holiday title. Neither of those things have anything to do with the 25th anniversary. Same thing this time, they will push it all the way back to Holiday 2016, and continue to work on it throughout the year. |
Game is marketed as the game to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Of course delaying the game and pushing to holidays was a great move that fits perfectly in their plans. Or do you believe they will pass on it after the success of Super Mario All-Stars Wii for the 25th Mario anniversary, just like Mario Maker for this year?
