Is price a major factor in poor 3DS/Wii U sales compared to GBC/N64 & GBA/GC?

And as we have seen countless times, people who hype up things on forums aren't exactly representative of the overall market. Who was it claiming 2DS was going to be a super massive success? Probably the same people who hype up any and every product Nintendo makes.

im talking about the people who were hyping it on THIS site and there was a fair amount. You dont have to tell me these forums arent representative of the ovearall market, i know that which is why i thought those predictions were ridiculous. That should be explained to the people who keep making out there predictions. Not that most would own up and take the crow anyway
