I.E. sacrificing story telling, character development, and relate-ability in the name of nostalgia much like what splatoon does, what Devil's third does which is basically what farcry 4 dlc blood dragon did. It's fine to have some games that do this but when every single one does it then it gets old fast. Which is what Nintendo has been doing with just about every game with Zombie U being an exception. |
Story telling and character development are not crucial elements of video games. Most of the most popular games do not excel in this area, even outside of Nintendo. COD doesn't, Minecraft doesn't, League of Legends doesn't, Sony's biggest IP Gran Turismo doesn't.
