Paying and supporting less content game for $60 is like asking developers to focus on only mutliplayer with fun maps instead of giving more cotent thats worth of that price and also skip single player totally in future which is bad for industry. Splatoon is a cash grab try by Nintendo by pricing at $60 and locking some content behind Amiboo so they are extracating more money out of a small budget/Indie level efforts game compared to AAA level game budgets and efforts needd by other game developers. Splatoon is good fun game but the pricce and content they offer is not worth. Just because the game is fun does not mean we have to pay $60 for a 30-40$ efforts game and its ok if any is fine with ths but they should remember that they are supporting a bad practice here which might hurt all gamers in future.

Only thing Amiibo gives you is one costume, the missions it brings are content already in the game only with parameters, if it was a cash grab the DLC wouldn't be free either they could have easily released it at a lower price then charge for DLC to get more then the price people are paying now. AAA budget and effort means nothing if the games aren't fun to play.

The ironic thing about the way people try to slam Splatoon's approach is that games like Evolve show the other side of the fence and you don't get anything for free with them, you're saying people are supporting a bad practice when in actual fact the industry has been supporting bad practices for well over a decade now microtransactions, season passes that don't give you all DLC and all, hell even a game like Arkham Knight is confirmed to be impossible to get all the content at launch which you'll have to purchase later. Here you get content for free something that other games that had worse practices that people paid full price for don't give you.
