It's an interesting strategy.

I was very happy paying full price for the game. From day one I feel that the game almost justifies the price without the future updates. I say almost because I think they needed two or three maps and an additional mode to strike the right balance. The game is quite packed with content, there are over 20 weapons, dozens of gear and the single player is quite fleshed out,

With all the new maps, weapons and modes coming out for free in the next months, I seriously doubt many people are going to complain about being overly ripped off. The game has been out for over a week and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

I, personally, wouldn't mind if other publishers adopt this model as long as they don't charge me for what should be part of the full priced game.
