Pretty fun. Gameplay seems responsive and the visuals are colorful and fun. Like the soundtrack. Got boring way too quick though and didn't understand the lasting appeal.
From a limited (7 or so hours) playing I'd probably score it in the 7-7.5 range. Decent game. But I don't see what is so special about it.

It's totally up to you, but I just can't imagine playing a game like Splatoon for 7 hours straight. To me, Splatoon is kind of like the "Tetris" of first person shooters. It's the kind of game where I will play 5-6 three minute matches at the end of my gaming session after playing 2 hours of Chrono Trigger on my virtual console. That said, over a while those 20-30 minute play sessions will slowly build up to 40+ hours of extremely satisfying gameplay. The repetitive nature of the short match times makes Splatoon get old a little quicker then other FPS games but it also makes it so appealing when you only have 10 minutes to play a video game.
