the beginning of the 7th gen had a lot of hit new IP's like Littlebigplanet, Assassins Creed, , Bioshock...It's kinda obvious that somewhere down the road it got stale. As some have mentioned, Nintendo was founded on quality control in the ashes of the '83 game crash, so they never really decline.
