I'm comparing the wii u to the wii, I'm comparing the ps4 to the ps3. The wii u is dated, but thanks to that it's a big progression from the also dated wii (just like ps2 vs ps4). the ps3 was not dated, just like the ps4, and thanks to that, the progression is simple. I'm not praising or downgrading any hardware, just stating how I see those consoles. |
I get what you're trying to say but wii hardware is slightly better than PS2 and Wii U is slightly better than PS3. It's not had a 2 gen leap as it's nowhere near the same hardware as PS4/X1. All 3 have had similar leaps in graphics. Wii U is a great little console and a good amount of power for it exclusives IP's that tend to be cartoony and colourful. The downside is that any 3rd party game will look dated against the PS4/X1.
Graphics aren't everything though, I do like good graphics but around 50% of the games I enjoy aren't dependent on eye melting visuals. I just found the point you made about graphics a bit strange
