Unbiasedly its a lot better, respectively I think it has stopped evolving and thus feels worse. Many of my favourite franchises were present in 2006-2008 and have yet to be released on the new generation, so for me its not as good but the variety of experiences available on PS4 in 2015 is superior to what was available on PS3 in the period of time.
2006-2008 was filled with lots of new things which have sinced been improved upon like FPS, Open world games, western RPGS, the cinematic AAA blockbuster, online multiplayer on consoles, indie games etc.
For those who say its worse I'm genuinely intridgued as to why? My only support of this notion is that we had a lot of new IPs so things were more exciting.
