Book 5 was a shit book, so I kind of expected season 5 to be shit as well. Hardly anything of worth happened in that book. It could've been half the length that it was. I waited 4 years for nothing. The show can never be as disappointing, because they at least have to adhere to some sort of release schedule.
I also find it funny that you expect GRRM to finish book 6 by spring next year. When have promises meant anything to him when it comes to writing these books? I accepted long ago that I will never get to read book 7. Unless, by some miracle, GRRM is still alive in 2022.
