I don't particularly dislike any of the companies, but since Nintendo is my favorite, I'll take Microsoft and Sony as my non-favorites.
Sony - understanding what players want. Everything about the console and library is built on this understanding. They even have a slogan in some ads now that says "this is for the players"
Microsoft - opening up windows 10 for developers. You may not know this, but the major tool for writing code for Microsoft platforms (Visual Studio) is now compatible with all the most popular non-MS languages. This means that a dev that has no knowledge of C# (most commonly used MS language), but has made iOS or Android apps before does NOT have to learn C#. He can port his game to Windows 10 in the language he already knows, and seeing as windows 10 is now one unified platform, the same code base can be published to XBox, PC, Windows Holographic (Hololens and future 3rd party hardware that will run the same OS) and Windows Mobile platforms.
But as for what they've already done since the launch of this gen, nothing impressive
