I think the op means the first two years of the PS3 launch compared to the first two years of the PS4 launch, and with that, I say worse.

During 2006-2008, there was the PS3, 360, the PS2 was still being heavily supported, PSP, DS, and Wii. The last two years the PS4, Xbox One, Vita, 3DS, Wii U, PS3, and 360. What support the PS3 or Vita gets, it's usually on the PS4 as well, the 360 has been dead the last two years, the Wii U gets almost no support outside of first part, PS4 and Xbox One are ports of PS360 games with a couple of exclusives here and there, while the 3DS is getting the most support, but still lacking compared to past support.

Here's a list of games that released in just 2006 and that year alone is better than the last two years for this current gen.
