Ok so i want to know if i am the only one out there thinking that Remasters are not just becoming a cash grab but also sold for all the wrong prices. Half-Life and Homeworld are 2 of my all time faverite franchises and recently iv just picked up the Remeastered versions and this is what i paid for. (Aussie dollar)

Below are the Remasters done right

*Homeworld - $89

Homeworld Remastered - $29

*Half-Life  - $89

Half-Life Black Mesa - $29

*State of Decay - $49

State of Decay RM - $29

Now both these games came out 10+ years after release, these games would be new to alot of new gamers and both remasteres have done a wonderful job in recreating these games for the modern gamer, while State of Decay RM seems to have done it right YAY!

Below are the Remasters done wrong

*Tomb Raider  - $89

Tomb Raider RM - $89

*TLOU  - $89

TLOU-RM - $89

*Saint Row 4  - $89

Saints Row 4 RM - $89

*GTA5 - $89

GTA5 RM - $89

*Sleeping Dogs Ordinal - $89

Sleeping Dogs RM - $89

*Metro 1 and 2 - $89 each

Metro Dedux RM - $89

etc etc etc

Remasters are being sold for over $80 dollars and thats not good enough.

Now i have seen some game collections like Halo MCC and the upcoming Uncharted ND Collection which is giving the modern gamer some great value but why is it that gamers are accepting these ridiculous prices? These are games that we CAN or already PLAYED years ago, why are you forking out full price for the same games with simple improvments..  I understand its great to have a big library of games but do you realize that there charging you the same price for the same game twice? they dont have to write storys, they dont have to lay down the brick work, the game is already made and all there doing is polishing it up. Nintendo release there games and if you already own it, they will charge you $1-2 dollars to redownload the game again on there latest hardware but understanding that there games arent Remastered. Steam release free updates to there games that can improve the graphic options in many games for FREE!

Every time i hear about a game getting remastered and its not even 2 years old i cringe.

I am not agasint Remasters if its done right.

- If the game is old enough.

- if it sells for the right price.

- if the game really needs a Remaster.

All opinions are welcome.

EDITED Post for those complaining.
