I thought NSMBU was alright. Never would have purchased it... but I enjoyed a single play through as a free game (came with my "Mario Kart 8" bundle last summer). 

I played it at my aunt and uncle's house a little while ago. Personally, I really enjoyed it, but Super Mario 3D World is a great game as well.
