Bundle it with a game, show that it'll have incorporated into other games and yeah, I'd buy an extra gamepad. Local Multiplayer is one of the main reasons I'm interested in the Wii U. Not sure that they should need that in order to enable 2 player online in splatoon though? One player should be able to use the wii remote and point+click on an englarge map in order to zip across the level.
