My biggest issue is the occasional bad design. For example, progression cut scene not triggering until you talk to all the unimportant people in a thorp. Some games are super bad about this, but no recent ones I can think of. SNES & NES eras were bad for that. They also tended to call a grouping of four houses and an inn/store a city.
Some of them are linear to the biggest of faults, particularly FF13. And as much as I like anime, I don't like all of it, and often what I don't like crops up in JRPGs. Can I complain about the titles too? Some of them are straight ridiculous.
