For me:
1. The 1000 different hair colours. Like, ok I get it. They don't all have to look like the average Japanese person, but after looking at a cover with a girl with pink hair, another with blue, another with purple, etc, I just want to avoid the game like the plague. (having said that I'm strangely a huge Sailor Moon fan). I loved Persona 4 Golden where only one girl had weird hair (blue) but even that was kind of dark, so it was ok.
2. Sexualizing teenage girls/children. It makes me extremely uncomfortable.
3. Guys acting like complete idiots around girls. Girls acting like complete idiots around guys (I'm looking at you, Persona 4).
I get it, but when all their interactions with them consist of guys acting like pervs or girls smothering you, it gets annoying as hell. They seriously act like two people of the opposite sex cannot be friends with each other.
4. Girls punching and throwing things at guys as joke and then realizing they were in the wrong (I hate double standards). I wish a guy would punch them back and just laugh about it.
Edit: just realized that these things also appy to anime. Also that I mentioned nothing that has to do with gameplay. In terms of gameplay, I honestly have no complaints (i.e. they're not limited to JRPGs)
