Stella was the perfect waifu materiel. :(

Why is it better than luna?

2 long hair blond chicks with diferent eye colors. They are so similar...

It's more about personality and abilties than appearance, they're almost identical in appearance. The difference is that Stella looked like she'd be a strong character, she shared Noctis' crystal powers and the ability to see Etro's light, she had her own goals and ambitions that would at times make her both an ally and an enemy of Noctis. She seemed like she was going to be a really complex, well-written character, and a good potential romance interest for Noctis.

By comparison all we've seen Luna do so far is sit there looking pretty waiting for Noctis to show up for a dinner. I got this strong damsel in distress vibe from her, that's a feeling I just can't shake. Maybe I'm wrong and she'll be just as strong of a character as Stella, but first impressions are important, and Tabata picked a really bad way to introduce Luna for the first time.

You do realize that what a character is, is COMPLETELY different than HOW a character is, right?  Stella could have easily been another Lightning for all we know.

-A strong female soldier who has her own ambitions.  Sounds too similar already.

From the looks of SE's ability to write, it's almost like they're completely limited to what a character is anyways.  They don't seem to understand what good character development is.  Or when they do attempt it, like with Hope and Lightning for instance, it's too shallow and lacks subtlety.

Nomura sure as hell doesn't understand character development.  He's always been about friendship in his games, and only friendship.  He never puts any other real world ordeals in his games to push the game's story.  For the most part he's always about "teh light and teh darkness" in everyone's heart.

It would have been more interesting if he pushed that as being on a moral gray line, but he didn't know what the fuck he had in his possession, or what he really could have done to make a good story in KH games.  Instead it was either all evil or all good.
