Have loved Ghibli since I accidentally stumbled across Princess Mononoke. Sadly though their films that Miyazaki wasn't at the helm of are generally underwhelming.
So glad Studio Canal did a Miyazaki collection meaning I could get a nice set of all the Ghibli films I cared about (and Lupin + Nausicaa) without having to either buy all the mediocre stuff too, or have gaps in a numbered set.
Having Serial Number 0023 of the LE run is pretty cool too ^_^
I'm not actually sad Ghibli are going on a hiatus. I'd rather they ended on a high like they have, then just dissapear into obscurity after a few poor releases.
Favourite Ghibli film for me I'd probably lean towards Spirited Away. Such an amazing soundtrack, and I love the ideas and themes it explores. Struggle not to tear up on the train scene though, dat music!
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
