Making this prediction cause I'm bored. Reasons:

1. Persona 5 is without a doubt going to be the best game of the year, probably the decade, possibly of all time

2. After several Anime shows and movies, Persona is more popular than ever in Japan. It is for example currently the most wanted game among the Famitsu audience.

3. After the overwhelmingly positive reception of the last 2 Persona games (especially 4) by both critics and fans, Persona 4 on PS2 and Vita both have 5 star ratings on Amazon.com for instance, with 335 and 664 reviews repectively, western interest in Persona seems to be at an all time high as well. Persona 5s gameplay trailer gathered over 2.8 million clicks on Youtube on the atlustube account plus another 800k clicks on the IGN account, it also got over a thousand upvotes on several different subreddits, with r/Games upvoting it the most with 2800 upvotes. To top that Persona 5 managed to become the third most wanted game of 2015 on the PS blog, beating out everything but Uncharted 4 and Batman (400000 votes were cast in that PS blog competition and the most voted for category was the most anticipated game).

4. Persona 5 is the first entry in the series since the PS1 era that launches on a system that's neither already been replaced by its successor or is virtually dead in the west.

5. It seems Sony has taken notice of the thirst for Persona 5 and might get in there to help with some marketing.

Possible things that might break this prediction:

1. The japanese lost love for home consoles may hinder this games performance (though I doubt that, Japan shouldn't be the problem here)

2. Should the game release during the holidays it might drown in the crowd of games (on the other hand games sell better during the holidays, we hear that all the time)

3. Sega/Sony leave the europeans out in the cold and either not release the game here at all or too late. Persona isn't huge in Europe as it is, releasing it way too late and with no fanfare would harm what little sales the game's going to get here.

4. I could just be overestimating. Unlikely I know, but I could just be driven by hype here.

Opinions?
