Only a fool would say the Wii U should be killed off.

 

That being said, at this point I think it is fair to lock it into 3rd place, despite all the great Nintendo games, it is getting little to nothing outside of Nintendo besides some solid to very good quality indie games. Unless Splatoon or Xenoblade Chronicles X or some other title turns out to be the genre defining title of this hardware generation and thus make the Wii U THE home system for fans of that genre in the way HALO: Combat Evolved did for the Xbox or Final Fantasy VII did for the PS1 or Monster Hunter Portable did for the PSP in Japan, then there is no way for the Wii U to catch up given it won't get any of the major 3rd party multiplatform games even when they are possible on the system.
