The third party is screwed either way.
If they make a port, and it's not on par with the others (which is won't be, a approximately 300 GFLOP console with only 1GB of RAM isn't going to much up with a 1.2TFLOP-1.8TFLOP console with 6GB of usable RAM) then Nintendo fans complain that the versions aren't equal.
If they don't port it because they can't make an equal version then they get crapped on too.
It's a lose lose situation, at least in this scenario they can better utilize their dev resources on the versions people would actually buy.

I disagree.
All devs need to do is add something useful for the gamepad to do and it will more than make up for graphical shortcomings. Surely they aren't that creatively destitute for this to be an issue?
Watch dogs had hacking, from a touch device, as a core game mechanic. It's not rocket science. I'd buy GTAV just for a constant map on the gamepad with on-the-fly GPS control.

So like all those Nintendo games with great Gamepad usage?
I really enjoyed Super MArio 3D World, but the Gamepad usage was a piece of shit. New Super MArio Bros is even worse.
Pikmin 3 got touch control. One year later. DKC TF has like zero Gamepad usage. And so on.
99.9% of the time only off-TV is good. Then there's Nintendoland and Zombi U. Both release games.
Except for the very few games with really interesting Gamepad features i've started to use it for off-TV only. Rest if Pro Controller. That is at least handy and ergonomic.
