As for which games have surprised me, or I really like:
Heavenly Sword: Absolutely great game, but quite short. I clocked up about 15 hours of play so far.
Assassin's Creed: Great game, although far too repetitive. I played it for about 15 hours.
Uncharted: Great game. It's lasted about 18 hours so far (I still dip in).
Oblivion: Great game, which somehow manages to be better than its many flaws would suggest. As it's so massive, it's lasted about 100 hours so far.
Motorstorm: Great racing game, but slow on loading. It's had about 12 hours of play from me.
Devil May Cry 4: Good game; although I found it a little over-hyped. I've played this for about 18 hours.
GT5:P: Well worth every penny. I'm still playing this a lot. In total, I've been playing this for about 20 hours so far.
Resistance: Fall of Man: Really, I still like this game, despite my general loathing of FPSs. Well worth picking up if you can find it cheap (which shouldn't be hard). I've played this a lot more than I would have ever expected, clocking in almost 40 hours of play.
CoD4: Again, it's an FPS, which is normally reason for me to ignore it, but it is that good, so it would be remiss of me not to recommend it. I've recently purchased this, and have only had about 9 hours of play so far.
Ratchet and Clank:
Great game, although too cartoony for some. I've played this one for about 18 hours.

Other than that, congrats on your new purchase. I'm sure it'll give you many, many hours of enjoyment.
