It definitely is damage control. Like you said and Ive said earlier, its weird to call it a legacy model.

Actually, that brings up an interesting question. If Sony is going to abandon the handheld market, and the NeXt Nintendo handheld is at least slightly more powerful than the Vita, do you think most of the Vita titles (the ones not tied to the PS brand) would be ported to the Nintendo system?
