If the NX is the Fusion system and its handheld part is affordable enough, it could help. Handheld gaming is designed to sessions no longer than 1 hour and half. Mobile is at its best with sessions shorter than 30 min due to poor battery life. If Nintendo combines its mobile presence with price models similar to those of Steam, it could help regain some ground, but in Japan mobile is there to stay.

I have to ask.  Do people seriously think the NX is going to an all in one console/handheld?

Because if you guys believe that, then wow.  Anyway, are people reading 'Nx' as 'N, X,' or as 'N cross'?  Based on how Iwata talks, it looks to be N cross.  Two seperate devices, which can interact with each other and share.  No idea what they'll share but I doubt it will be the same libraries.  The key for them though, is that they will be able to share development libraries(?) or make it easier to bring over assets.

That sharing could just extend to the handheld being the gamepad for Wii U backwards compatibility though, or they could extend that further, and go the PS4/Vita route and allow streaming of the console games while away on a busor something.
