There has been a lot of uproar about the Wii U version of Project Cars being in jeopardy, but it's pretty obvious that a large chunk of these people who are upset had little interest in the game to begin with and were not familiar with the game's development. This can be seen by the huge amount of misinformation being spread around. For example I see the following a lot:

There was never a kickstarter for this game, it was a http://www.wmdportal.com/ campaign as captain carot pointed out. Also the head of SMS has comfirmed that more than 95% of funding for the game was raised when the project was classified as a Free to Play PC racing game. Only after funds were raised did they expand the project to include a console release.
