So resident evil with a katana wouldnt be different than resident evil with only guns? Look at Onimusha.

Also Bloodborne has two modes for every weapon.

The thing is, the combat is the same, but more quick.

How they did it more quick?

Get ride of the shield and give it a gun. Also the character and the enemies are way faster too. But is the same thing, just faster.

You can´t compare the differences between RE and SH with the differences of Demon Souls and Bloodborne.

I mean, there is even more differences betwen RE 3 and RE 4 than on DS and BB. Where Bloodborne is way different is on the artstyle, that gorgeus gothic world. But little more.

Re3 and 4 is a shift from pre rendered backgrounds to real time third person camera its not comparable.

Silent hill and Resident evil are actually a lot more similiar than souls is to Bloodborne. Both games have the same survival horror concept just the items are different and SH being a llittle bit more melee focused which is optional as you can also just use the guns all the time. The only difference is that SH has a flash light and is covered in dark most of the time, as it was always in real 3D but has a mix of top down and third person camera.
