How can you see the same on Mario Shunshine, Mario Galaxy and Mario 3D world? Really, I can´t understand it. You need to be extremely superficial to think that way or someone that didn´t played any of those games.
Bloodborne plays VERY differetly? lol, is just more quick, is like Demon Souls. Bloodborne is everything but original, it has the same mechanics and the level design is quite similar, the only massive change is the artstyle. The gameplay is Demon Souls with a gun and more faster.

Unless you have played these its not fair to give opinion. I have owned Wii and played Wii U quite a bit at my friends home (never owned GC). Plus as I have said "to each his own". In mario games you just collect coins and complete a small stage. Same can be said to bloodborne (you collect blood echoes and compelte a stage). But what makes it different is its story and achievement. Take for example, father G. The fate of his wife and his daughter is a sad one. You slowly unfold their story. Every character has a story and it binds the game togeather. This is a unique aspect of the game while also satisfying (beating blood starved beast is an awesome feeling). This is what makes it different.

The truly protagonist on Mario games is the Level Design, and that has suffer massive changes over the years, look what Galaxy did, It was pure virtuosity of level design, it was mindblowing, how can anybody thinks "is just another Mario", that´s EXTREMELY superficial. A good lore is ok, but how you can be comparing a platformer with an rpg on that? seriously? And how can you be saying that Bloodborne is different because it has a Lore with some sad story? Dark Souls is sad and has a great Lore too, one that you slowly unfold too.
