I don't think all of this is directed at me, but I shall respond nonetheless, particularly to the last paragraph.

Its one thing to believe that the the Xbox One and WiiU do not have better line ups than the PS4. But to believe the PS4 has such a wonderful line up or library as to warrant this sort of lead? Please.

Frankly I think this generation is one great example of just how effective good (and bad) PR teams are at impacting their company's lot in the market. So much of Sony's lead is wrapped up in what is now a very dated notion that Microsoft's customers are going to be worse off than Sony's. That notion has been created and maintained by Sony's marketing masterstrokes, and Microsoft's marketing failures.

Actually all the devs deciding just not to develop for Xbox are also doing a great job of holding up that "very dated notion".

Even the most hardened Xbox fans can't deny that there is a lack of variety and quantity of games coming to Xbox in comparison to PS4. Note that I said "in comparison to PS4" and not that there is a general lack of variety and quantity.

Of course you can say that all these games that are coming to PS4 and not to X1 are irrelevant and it all depends on taste but then this discussion is irrelevant anyway.

I think you're debating a different point? There are a number of Japanese titles coming to the PS4 and not the Xbox One. Just as Microsoft has secured a number of Western exclusives for the Xbox brand.

For the very small number of western devs that have decided not to publish for the Xbox One as a commercial decision (with no inducement from Sony) that would no doubt be a reflection on the sales, rather than the original reason for the sales. Though obviously if that continued over a (very) long time, it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
