The difference is that MP is a AAA series. Even as a port, there was still a lot of work put into them when they were first made. With the third party games being complained about, there doesn't seem to be much work put into them at all.
See the difference? That's why Okami is fine with gamers, but something like Boogie isn't.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
