TBH i kinda do not understand how the WiiU gamepad is expensive lol.
I mean I bought two Gigaset (you might remember them as Siemens Gigaset phone manufacturers) QV830 8" Tablets for 45€ each. They have an aluminum case instead of plastic and obviously a glas display. (only the two sides are chromed plastic) The thing even came with a screen protector applied.

The whole thing has just 3 negative points it just has a 18bit display and it obviously just has 4 or so buttons instead of 20 or so like the gamepad has (and it obviously lacks the analog sticks. And it just has a bad mono speaker. But thats it everything else is superior to the gamepad like it it does not have an expensive proprietary charger it just uses normal micro USB.
I do know that this tech was not available when the WiiU launched but nooned prevents them from using more common hardware now. The "its expensive" phrase is probably as much nonsense as the "Prease rook we arso bundre it with a 1.5m HDMI cabre. Thats a varue of 20 euros." To bad I bought a 10m HDMI cable for 5€from ebay the week before they made that statement. Oh well..
