Thanks.

Haha, that's quite the discrepancy. The head of the studio is saying Shift 2 sold "multiple millions of copies" while VGChartz shows just 180k in sales.

Not now, VGC has more than a milion sold, and that without counting digital and PC.

I call bullshit on Shift 2 selling multiple millions in the first weeks compared to the 180k VGC had it when he checked the numbers (if he understood what VGC is tracking). NPD didn't even have the game in the top 10 in March and April (it released end of March) so that it sold already pretty bad in America and Chart-Track had it on 4 in the first week (with no other big release) and in the fourth week it was already only on 19th so that it was for the full first four weeks probably also not in the top 8 or something.

So, where in the world did multiple millions in sales come from in the first weeks which VGC didn't track because of "they have no idea" if the game never reached top 10 in USA and was lucky to be in the top 5 in the first week in UK but died there pretty fast as well?

I mean, we talk about end of March and April sales here, if a game can't even reach top 10 spots in a for gaming slow month I have no idea what he is talking about.

I would guess mobile but I believe the mobile version released much later and these numbers are obviously not on VGC...

One more evidence that it sold bad is that EA didn't even really mention it in the quarterly report even if they normally do mention newly released games if they performed at least decent. EA had to be very disappointed with the sales.
